About the Abarth 500e Hatchback
The Abarth 500e Hatchback is the electric reinvention of Abarth’s iconic performance city car, blending Italian style, sporty handling and instant electric torque into a compact hot hatch package. Based on the electric Fiat 500 platform but extensively reworked by Abarth, it delivers a more dynamic driving experience while retaining the agility and character for which the brand is known.
Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor producing 155 hp (114 kW) and 235 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels through a single-speed transmission. The result is brisk acceleration, with the Abarth 500e reaching 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 7.0 seconds and achieving a top speed of 96 mph (155 km/h).
The car is equipped with a 37.3 kWh usable battery (42 kWh gross), providing up to 164 miles (264 km) WLTP range. While the battery is relatively small compared with larger EVs, it helps keep weight down and supports the Abarth’s sporty, responsive feel.
Charging is supported at up to 85 kW DC rapid charging, allowing a typical 10-80% charge in around 25 minutes under ideal conditions. An 11 kW AC onboard charger is also fitted, making home and workplace charging straightforward.
Inside, the 500e Hatchback features Abarth-specific performance styling, sports seats, unique digital displays and premium finishes. Despite its compact dimensions, the four-seat cabin remains practical for urban use, while the hatchback body provides everyday versatility.
Designed primarily for city driving and spirited B-road journeys, the Abarth 500e competes with vehicles such as the MINI Cooper JCW Electric, Alpine A290 and Renault 5 E‑Tech. It offers a distinctive blend of performance, personality and electric efficiency.
