Hyundai IONIQ 5 63 kWh RWD (MY24)

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 63 kWh RWD (MY24) is the updated entry-level version of Hyundai’s award-winning electric crossover. Built on Hyundai’s dedicated E‑GMP platform, it combines distinctive retro-futuristic styling, class-leading charging technology and a spacious interior, making it one of the most practical electric family vehicles on sale.

Powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 170 hp (125 kW) and 350 Nm of torque, the IONIQ 5 delivers smooth rear-wheel-drive performance and excellent refinement. It accelerates from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 115 mph (185 km/h).

The vehicle is fitted with a 60 kWh usable battery (63 kWh nominal) and offers up to 214 miles (345 km) WLTP range, while real-world mixed driving range is typically around 210 miles (338 km). The revised MY24 model benefits from improved battery management and efficiency updates.

A key highlight of the IONIQ 5 remains its 800V electrical architecture, which enables exceptionally fast charging. The vehicle supports up to 195 kW DC rapid charging, allowing a 10-80% recharge in approximately 18 minutes under ideal conditions. AC charging is supported at 11 kW.

Practicality is excellent thanks to the long 3,000 mm wheelbase, creating a spacious cabin with seating for five adults. Boot capacity is 520 litres, expanding to 1,580 litres with the rear seats folded. A 57-litre frunk provides additional storage space.

The IONIQ 5 also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing external devices to be powered directly from the vehicle’s battery, making it especially useful for outdoor activities and emergencies.
