About the Vauxhall Corsa Electric GSE
The Vauxhall Corsa Electric GSE is the most powerful and performance-focused Corsa ever produced, reviving the spirit of the old VXR hot hatches in an all-electric package. Developed by Vauxhall’s GSE (Grand Sport Electric) division, it combines a 281 hp electric motor with a motorsport-inspired chassis, limited-slip differential, uprated brakes and bespoke suspension tuning. The result is a compact electric supermini capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 5.5 seconds, making it one of the quickest cars in its class.
Unlike the standard Corsa Electric, the GSE receives significant hardware upgrades designed to improve handling and driver engagement. A Torsen limited-slip differential helps maximise traction through corners, while Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres and large Alcon performance brakes provide the grip and stopping power expected of a genuine hot hatch. The chassis sits lower than the regular model and features wider tracks for improved stability and sharper turn-in.
Power comes from a 54 kWh battery pack with 50.8 kWh usable capacity. Vauxhall has prioritised performance over outright range, with real-world driving expected to yield around 185 miles per charge. Fast charging speeds of up to 107 kW allow the battery to recharge from 10-80% in approximately 28 minutes, helping to minimise downtime on longer journeys.
Visually, the Corsa Electric GSE adopts a more aggressive appearance than the standard model. Unique front and rear bumpers, wider wheel arches, black exterior detailing, a contrasting roof and bespoke 18-inch alloy wheels clearly distinguish it from lesser Corsa models. Inside, Alcantara-trimmed sports seats, a sporty steering wheel and GSE-specific detailing reinforce its performance credentials.
Starting from £32,995, the Corsa Electric GSE undercuts many of its electric hot hatch rivals while offering higher power output than competitors such as the Alpine A290, MINI John Cooper Works Electric and Abarth 600e. For buyers seeking a compact EV that delivers genuine hot hatch performance without moving into premium price territory, the Corsa Electric GSE looks set to be one of the most exciting electric launches of 2026.
