Dacia Spring Electric 100

The Dacia Spring Electric 100 is one of the most affordable electric vehicles available in the UK, designed primarily for urban and suburban driving. Compact, lightweight and easy to own, it focuses on delivering practical zero-emission mobility at a price point traditionally associated with small petrol city cars.

Powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 101 hp (75 kW) and 137 Nm of torque, the Spring Electric 100 offers noticeably stronger performance than the entry-level Spring 70 model. It accelerates from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 9.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 78 mph (125 km/h).

The vehicle features a 24.0 kWh usable battery (24.3 kWh gross) using durable LFP battery technology. WLTP range is approximately 140 miles (225 km), while realistic everyday range typically falls around 95 miles (153 km), making the Spring particularly suitable for city driving, short commutes and local journeys.

Charging is straightforward and affordable. The Spring supports up to 6.6 kW AC charging and 40 kW DC rapid charging, allowing a 10-80% charge in around 30 minutes at a suitable rapid charger.

Despite its compact dimensions, practicality is respectable. The Spring offers a 308-litre boot, expanding to over 1,000 litres with the rear seats folded. Its small footprint and tight turning circle make it particularly easy to manoeuvre and park in urban environments.

The Spring Electric 100 also includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing owners to power external devices directly from the car’s battery.
