About the Hyundai IONIQ 3 61 kWh
The Hyundai IONIQ 3 61 kWh is a compact electric hatchback designed to bring Hyundai’s advanced EV technology to a more affordable and practical segment. Positioned below the IONIQ 5, it combines efficient packaging, modern styling and everyday usability, making it an attractive choice for urban and family drivers.
Powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 135 hp (100 kW) and 250 Nm of torque, the IONIQ 3 focuses on efficiency rather than outright performance. The front-wheel-drive system delivers smooth, responsive acceleration with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of approximately 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 106 mph (170 km/h).
The vehicle is equipped with a 58 kWh usable battery (61 kWh gross) and delivers up to 233 miles (375 km) WLTP range, with some specifications citing up to 301-309 miles (484-497 km) depending on trim, testing methodology and wheel options.
Charging is supported via an 11 kW AC onboard charger and up to 110 kW DC rapid charging, allowing a 10-80% recharge in around 30 minutes under ideal conditions. The vehicle also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling external devices to be powered directly from the battery.
Inside, the IONIQ 3 offers a spacious five-seat cabin with practical hatchback versatility. Boot capacity is quoted at 441 litres, expanding to over 1,200 litres with the rear seats folded, making it one of the more versatile vehicles in the compact EV segment.
Built on Hyundai’s dedicated EV architecture, the IONIQ 3 is expected to compete directly with the Volkswagen ID. Polo, Renault 5 E‑Tech, Kia EV3 and CUPRA Raval.
