About the Mini Cooper JCW
The MINI Cooper JCW Electric is the most performance-focused version of the new electric MINI Cooper lineup, bringing the legendary John Cooper Works badge into the EV era. Combining MINI’s iconic go-kart handling with instant electric torque, the JCW Electric is designed for drivers who want a compact hot hatch experience without sacrificing everyday usability.
Powered by a single front-mounted electric motor producing 258 hp (190 kW) and 350 Nm of torque, the JCW Electric delivers brisk acceleration and sharp responses. The front-wheel-drive setup launches the car from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 5.9 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 124 mph (200 km/h).
Energy comes from a 49.2 kWh usable battery (54.2 kWh gross), providing a WLTP range of up to 231 miles (371 km). The battery is mounted low within the chassis, helping maintain MINI’s renowned agility and improving cornering stability.
Charging capability includes support for up to 95 kW DC rapid charging, allowing a typical 10-80% charge in around 29 minutes under ideal conditions. An 11 kW AC onboard charger is fitted as standard for home and workplace charging.
Inside, the JCW Electric features a sporty cabin with JCW-specific styling details, supportive sports seats, performance-inspired graphics and MINI’s distinctive circular OLED infotainment display. The compact three-door body retains everyday practicality while offering a more engaging driving experience than most small EVs.
The MINI Cooper JCW Electric targets enthusiasts looking for a premium electric hot hatch and competes with vehicles such as the Abarth 600e, Alpine A290 and CUPRA Born VZ. Its blend of performance, character and iconic design makes it one of the most entertaining small EVs currently available.
