The CUPRA Born 150 kW – 58 kWh (MY22‑24) is a sporty electric hatchback that combines Volkswagen Group EV technology with CUPRA’s distinctive styling and driver-focused character. As the brand’s first fully electric production model, the Born offers sharp handling, strong efficiency and everyday practicality in a compact family-friendly package.

Powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 150 kW (204 hp), the Born delivers smooth rear-wheel-drive performance with responsive acceleration and balanced handling characteristics. The rear-wheel-drive layout provides a more engaging driving experience than many front-wheel-drive rivals.

The vehicle is equipped with a 58 kWh usable battery pack and offers up to 264 miles (425 km) WLTP range, making it suitable for commuting, family use and longer road trips. The MEB platform helps maximise interior space while maintaining a compact exterior footprint.

Charging capability includes support for up to 120 kW DC rapid charging, enabling a typical 10-80% recharge in around 35 minutes, while an 11 kW AC onboard charger supports convenient home and workplace charging.

Inside, the Born features a modern digital cockpit with a large central touchscreen, digital driver display and sustainable interior materials. Passenger accommodation is generous for a vehicle of its size, while the hatchback body provides useful practicality.

The Born competes with vehicles such as the Volkswagen ID.3, MG MG4 EV, Renault Megane E‑Tech and Hyundai Kona Electric, offering a sportier alternative within the compact EV segment.
