Tesla Model Y Performance (Juniper)

The Tesla Model Y Performance (Juniper) is the high-performance flagship of Tesla’s refreshed Model Y range. Built on the updated Juniper platform, it combines sports-car acceleration with SUV practicality, enhanced ride refinement and Tesla’s extensive charging ecosystem.

Powered by a dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system producing up to 627 hp (461 kW) and 741 Nm of torque, the Model Y Performance delivers exceptional performance for a family SUV. It accelerates from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in approximately 3.5-3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The Performance model uses a battery pack with approximately 79 kWh usable capacity (82 kWh nominal) and delivers up to 360 miles (580 km) WLTP range. Real-world mixed driving range is estimated at around 460 km (286 miles) depending on weather and driving conditions.

Charging remains one of Tesla’s strongest areas. The vehicle supports up to 250 kW DC rapid charging, allowing a 10-80% charge in roughly 27-28 minutes, while home and destination charging is supported at up to 11 kW AC. Battery preconditioning is included to optimise charging performance when navigating to Superchargers.

The Juniper Performance variant introduces a number of performance-focused upgrades including adaptive dampers, larger brakes, performance seats, unique alloy wheels and Tesla’s advanced Track Mode. These upgrades provide sharper handling while maintaining the comfort expected from a daily-driven SUV.

Practicality remains a key selling point. The Model Y Performance offers seating for five occupants, substantial cargo capacity and the versatility of an SUV body style, making it one of the quickest family EVs currently available.
