About the Kia EV5 81.4 kWh
The Kia EV5 81.4 kWh (MY26) is a spacious electric family SUV positioned between the Kia Niro EV and the larger Kia EV9. Designed with practicality and value in mind, the EV5 combines long-range capability, modern technology and SUV versatility, making it a strong contender in the mid-size electric SUV segment.
Powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 218 hp (160 kW) and 295 Nm of torque, the EV5 offers smooth and efficient front-wheel-drive performance. It accelerates from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 103 mph (165 km/h).
The EV5 is equipped with an 81.4 kWh battery pack with 78.0 kWh usable capacity, delivering up to 329 miles (530 km) WLTP range. Real-world mixed driving range is estimated at around 250 miles (410 km), with considerably higher figures possible during urban driving.
Charging is supported via an 11 kW AC onboard charger and up to 150 kW DC rapid charging, allowing a 10-80% recharge in approximately 30 minutes. The vehicle also supports battery preconditioning and Plug & Charge functionality for increased charging convenience.
Practicality is one of the EV5’s strongest attributes. The SUV offers a large 566-litre boot, expanding to 1,650 litres with the rear seats folded. The cabin provides generous passenger space thanks to the dedicated EV platform and flat floor design.
The EV5 includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing users to power external appliances directly from the vehicle’s battery. Future support for Vehicle-to-Home capability has also been announced.
