About the CUPRA Born 77 kWh

The CUPRA Born 77 kWh is the longest-range version of CUPRA’s award-winning electric hatchback, combining sporty styling, rear-wheel-drive dynamics and impressive efficiency. Built on Volkswagen Group’s dedicated MEB electric platform, the Born delivers a more engaging driving experience than many rivals while retaining excellent practicality for everyday use.

Powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 231 hp (170 kW) and 310 Nm of torque, the Born 77 kWh offers smooth power delivery and balanced handling. The rear-wheel-drive setup contributes to a sporty character, helping the hatchback accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in around 7.0 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 99 mph (160 km/h).

The vehicle is equipped with a 77 kWh usable battery (82 kWh gross), providing up to 345 miles (555 km) WLTP range, making it one of the longest-range electric hatchbacks currently available. Strong efficiency and aerodynamic design contribute to excellent real-world usability for both city and motorway driving.

Charging performance is equally impressive, with support for up to 175 kW DC rapid charging. Under ideal conditions, a typical 10-80% charge can be completed in approximately 27-28 minutes, while an 11 kW AC onboard charger supports convenient home and workplace charging.

Inside, the Born features a modern, driver-focused cabin with sports seats, CUPRA-specific styling elements and a large central infotainment display. Passenger space is excellent thanks to the long wheelbase, while practicality is supported by a 385-litre boot that expands to 1,267 litres with the rear seats folded.

The CUPRA Born 77 kWh is aimed at drivers seeking a more engaging electric hatchback without sacrificing efficiency or range. It offers an appealing alternative to the Volkswagen ID.3, MG4 Extended Range and Renault Megane E-Tech.
