About the BMW iX4 50 xDrive

The BMW iX4 50 xDrive (MY27) is BMW’s first fully electric SUV coupé in the Neue Klasse generation, combining the practicality of an SUV with the sleek, sporty silhouette traditionally associated with BMW’s X4 models. Built on BMW’s next-generation EV platform, the iX4 introduces sixth-generation eDrive technology, an 800-volt electrical architecture and significantly improved range and charging performance compared with previous BMW electric vehicles.

Powered by dual electric motors producing 345 kW (469 hp) and 645 Nm of torque, the iX4 50 xDrive delivers all-wheel-drive traction and strong performance, accelerating from 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds. BMW’s new “Heart of Joy” vehicle control system manages power delivery, braking and chassis responses to improve precision and driving engagement.

A large 108.7 kWh battery pack provides an official WLTP range of up to 514 miles (828 km), making the iX4 one of the longest-range electric SUVs announced to date. The new 800V architecture supports ultra-rapid 400 kW DC charging, allowing up to 240 miles of range to be added in around 10 minutes under optimal conditions.

The exterior features BMW’s latest Neue Klasse design language, with a low drag coefficient of 0.23, a flowing coupé-style roofline and standard M Sport styling. Inside, the cabin introduces BMW Panoramic iDrive, a large 17.9-inch central display, advanced digital interfaces and a spacious premium interior designed around sustainability and technology.

The iX4 50 xDrive is expected to compete directly with vehicles such as the Porsche Macan Electric, Polestar 4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ. For drivers looking for long-range capability, rapid charging and BMW’s latest EV technology in a stylish SUV-coupé package, the iX4 50 xDrive is positioned as one of the most significant BMW EV launches of 2027.
