About the Ford Capri Standard Range RWD
The Ford Capri Standard Range RWD (MY26) is the entry-level version of Ford’s electric coupé-SUV, combining the practicality of a family SUV with the styling cues of the historic Capri nameplate. Built on the Volkswagen MEB platform, it shares its underpinnings with the Ford Explorer EV while offering a sleeker, more aerodynamic design.
Power comes from a rear-mounted electric motor producing 190 hp (140 kW) and 350 Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels. Performance is respectable for a family EV, with 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.0 seconds and a top speed of 99 mph (160 km/h).
The MY26 model features a 58.0 kWh usable battery (61.0 kWh gross) using LFP battery chemistry, offering improved longevity and thermal stability. Official WLTP range is up to 288 miles (464 km), while real-world mixed driving range is approximately 215 miles (346 km).
Charging is supported via 11 kW AC charging and up to 105-115 kW DC rapid charging. A 10-80% charge takes approximately 27 minutes, and battery preconditioning is included to help maintain optimal charging speeds.
Practicality is one of the Capri’s strengths. The coupe-inspired body retains generous luggage capacity and a spacious cabin for five occupants, making it a practical alternative to traditional family SUVs.
The Ford Capri Standard Range RWD (MY26) offers an appealing balance of style, practicality and efficiency, sitting between mainstream family EVs and premium coupé-SUVs. Key rivals include the Škoda Enyaq Coupé, Volkswagen ID.5, Renault Scenic E‑Tech and Peugeot e‑3008.
