About the Kia PV5 Passenger 71.2 kWh

The Kia PV5 Passenger 71.2 kWh (MY27) is Kia’s purpose-built electric people carrier, developed on the company’s new PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) architecture. Designed for families, shuttle services and mobility operators, it combines a spacious, flexible cabin with modern EV technology and strong practicality.

Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor producing 163 hp (120 kW) and 250 Nm of torque. The PV5 Passenger is focused on comfort and efficiency rather than outright performance, delivering 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in approximately 10.6-10.7 seconds and a top speed of 84 mph (135 km/h).

The MY27 model uses a 71.2 kWh battery pack with 67.0 kWh usable capacity, providing a real-world range of around 210 miles (338 km) and a WLTP range of up to 249-256 miles (400-412 km) depending on specification.

Charging is supported via 11 kW AC charging and up to 150 kW DC rapid charging. A 10-80% charge takes approximately 30-39 minutes, making the PV5 suitable for both daily use and longer journeys.

A major strength of the PV5 Passenger is its practicality. The standard layout offers 1,330 litres of luggage capacity behind five seats, while folding the second row expands cargo volume dramatically. A dedicated 7-seat version is also available for larger families and passenger transport applications.

The cabin features Kia’s latest digital interface, including a 7.5-inch driver display and 12.9-inch infotainment screen, plus wide-opening sliding doors and a low step-in height for easy access.

The Kia PV5 Passenger 71.2 kWh (MY27) offers a compelling blend of space, flexibility and electric efficiency, positioning it as a strong rival to the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, Toyota Proace Verso Electric and Volkswagen e‑Transporter Shuttle.
